Sustainability LIVE London is making a significant impact this year by partnering with the global reforestation organisation Treeapp.

This initiative highlights Sustainability LIVE’s dedication to promoting and facilitating sustainable practices on a global scale.

“Sustainability LIVE was established in 2022 to magnify the content of our award winning Sustainability magazine and has subsequently become the 'go to event' for sustainability executives globally," BizClik CEO Glen White said.

“Our partnership with Treeapp not only allows our events to reach their sustainability objectives, but also those who attend Sustainability LIVE London.

“Our platform allows leaders to make meaningful change. We are delighted that, by partnering with Treeapp, we can continue that mission for all involved with the Sustainability LIVE series.

“This reflects our global commitment to connecting the world’s sustainability leaders as well as being a platform and voice for organisations, individuals and communities to showcase their core Sustainability, ESG and net zero strategies”

Treeapp, a climate tech company known for its innovative approach to reforestation, enables users to plant trees at no cost, with funding provided by eco-conscious businesses.

It uses a mobile app to facilitate its global reforestation programme and, by leveraging technology, Treeapp contributes to carbon sequestration and environmental restoration worldwide.

This collaboration with Sustainability LIVE ensures that every individual’s participation in the event directly contributes to environmental restoration efforts.

By allowing attendees to engage in meaningful environmental action, Sustainability LIVE London reinforces its role as a leader in the sustainability sector.

The broader impact of Sustainability LIVE

Sustainability LIVE London isn’t just about planting trees — it’s about leading the way in global sustainability. By partnering with Treeapp, the event ensures that its sustainability objectives are met, while also allowing attendees to take direct action towards a more sustainable future.

The Business Design Centre, where the event is hosted, is itself a model of sustainability. As a certified B Corp, the venue is committed to reaching net zero by 2030 and has already made significant strides in reducing its carbon footprint.

The tree-planting initiative is a core part of Sustainability LIVE’s mission. However, the event's commitment to sustainability extends beyond this. Sustainability LIVE has also teamed up with ClimatePartner, a leading consultant in sustainability, to offset all emissions generated during the two-day event.

This partnership ensures that Sustainability LIVE not only meets its own sustainability goals but also sets an example for other events worldwide.

ClimatePartner works with more than 6,000 clients globally, offering comprehensive solutions that include calculating, reducing and mitigating carbon emissions. Their expertise in managing everything from initial carbon footprints to full Scope 3 emissions ensures that Sustainability LIVE London remains at the forefront of sustainable event management.

Treeapp’s contribution to global reforestation

While the Sustainability LIVE partnership is a major milestone, Treeapp’s work spans much further. Treeapp plants more than 200 different species of trees across various global locations.

Locations Treeapp plants trees in include:
    • Madagascar
    • Tanzania
    • Burundi
    • Guinea
    • Mozambique
    • Kenya
    • Indonesia
    • Nepal
    • Brazil
    • Haiti

In 2022, Treeapp celebrated planting more than one million trees. These trees are crucial for filtering pollutants such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide from the air, improving air quality, and producing oxygen.

“One million trees can improve the health of millions of people that suffer from airborne health problems,” Treeapp said. With a single tree producing around 118kg of oxygen annually, the one million trees planted by Treeapp could supply clean air for more than 500,000 families each year.

Treeapp’s reforestation efforts also have a positive impact on the communities surrounding the planting sites. Improved economic and educational opportunities, better food security and increased social equality are just a few of the benefits experienced by these communities. The organisation’s next goal is to plant 10 million trees, further expanding its impact on both the environment and the people who rely on these forests.

Treeapp’s partnerships with more than 1,000 brands, including high-profile names like DPD, HelloFresh, Virgin, Marriott and The Economist, have been instrumental in supporting its mission. By collaborating with such brands, Treeapp continues to drive forward its vision of a greener, more sustainable world.

Driving collective action for a sustainable future

Neil Perry, Managing Editor and host of BizClik’s Sustainability LIVE series, praised the partnership.

“It's a fantastic initiative from Treeapp to be planting a tree for every attendee at Sustainability LIVE in London this September. While hosting, it will be a great feeling to know every face looking back at me on stage will be helping to play their part with another tree planted.

“It is another example of how different organisations can collaborate to make a difference.”

As Sustainability LIVE London prepares to welcome attendees this September, the tree-planting initiative serves as a powerful reminder of the event’s commitment to driving meaningful change. By bringing together global leaders in sustainability, Sustainability LIVE is not only fostering important conversations but also facilitating direct action that benefits the planet and its people.
